New IT Networking Group for Mullingar

Last Tuesday saw the first official meetup of MIT Mullingar – a new IT networking group for people working and studying in the Information Technology, Web and Digital industry in and around the Mullingar area.

It was a great night and a very positive start to our group. We had a broad range of skills in the room, including some very technical guys, us front end folk and tech support was represented too. Everyone agreed that we would like to meet regularly so it looks like a montly meeting will be organised. Keep an eye on our LinkedIn group page for dates of the next meetup.

What’s it all about?

Midlands IT (MIT) Mullingar was established in 2014 by Anthony Palmer (AutoRecords) and myself – local IT guru Orla Duncan. This is a volunteer group of do-ers who are interested in helping IT people make connections with others to create something new and interesting.

The aim is to provide a forum for local companies and people that would benefit from a stronger IT community in and around the Mullingar area. The group will facilitate members to network with others who have the skills, resources or experience to help each other with various projects or career development. MIT is a high skills networking group of Programmers, Engineers, Web Designers/Developers, Sys-Admins, Bloggers, IT Managers, CIO’s, Entrepreneurs, Investors, Hackers, Teachers, Students or anyone that would class themselves as an Information Technology Professional (or aspiring!).
